New restaurant coming to First Street as Wok n' Fire moves across the river

Have you heard? Wok n’ Fire St. Charles is moving! Currently located 181 S First St., the sushi-centric, Asian-inspired cuisine will be making the move across the river to 2801 E Main Street, formerly occupied by the salad bar buffet restaurant, Sweet Tomatoes.

The 7,000 square foot restaurant on the east side of St. Charles sold in January and interior demolition began the following week. No word yet one when Wok n’ Fire will begin operations at their new location.

Wondering what will happen to the current First Street location? Permits filed with the City of St. Charles indicate that the facility will be put to good use as a new restaurant. The first of its kind, Moto i Moto, will be taking over the prominent downtown corner and serving up Asian fan-fare street food, noodles and signature sushi rolls.

The new restaurant will be Chef Brian Goewey’s 7th restaurant under the BG Hospitality Group which operates Gia Mia and Livia Italian Eatery. Similar to the sister restaurants, Moto i Moto will offer sharable plates and fresh farm to fork ingredients. Moto i Moto is looking to open their doors in June 2021.
